Watch this brilliant author closely. He is one if those rare individuals born to write amazing fiction. Quite by accident I stumbled upon his very first novel in the Mortimer Drake series, Born Dead. After spending only a dollar on the first Kindle edition the hook was set. And what a series. What a ride with the windows rolled down doing 90 miles an hour down a pitch black highway! Thank the stars Greg Wilkey is one of those crazy kind of authors who just can't stop writing. Where do they get these amazing stories they pluck out of their tortured restless imaginations? This current novel, Death Runs In The Family, the first in his latest series is even better. It's considered young adult fiction. I am nearing 50 years on this earth, and let me remark this is fit for anyone who likes a shriek and a bump in the night. Page one grabs you. The ensuing chapters drag you kicking and screaming down dark hallways. There is an uneasy undertone that gave me some serious willies. This is the perfect book to set the tone for your Fall reading. Boo! I'm anticipating the next book in the series. The story flows like a country stream after a good rain. You will find you read into the night before you know it. I highly recommend these books for both young adults and their parents. It will make for terrific family discussions.
I've also taken to collecting the paperbacks as I see this novelist becoming very big in the industry. Join him on Facebook. He is completely down to earth and an all around likable person.

Death Runs in the Family The Neither Nor Series Book 1 eBook Greg Wilkey Ran Valerhon Todd Barselow Reviews
Young Edgar Flax has spent the last 3 years living with his gram in the Louisiana swamps. Every day, dull, lifeless, just like the other days. But that was about to change forever, with a simple turn of a door knob...
Do you believe in ghosts? Do you believe spirits can walk amongst us? That's ok, after this book, you just might be checking for monsters under your bed.
Believe me when I say, Mr. Wilkey has done it again! He has taken the paranormal and put a fresh, never been done before, twist on it. Do you think you could handle being a lender? Or a borrower? What are those you ask? Well, you will just have to read the book.
This book is a super past, page turning book chalked full of twists and surprises. But don't take it from me, buy it today! Oh...You may want to keep the lights on if you get spooked easily. Happy reading!
And once you are done with this book, check out his equally amazing Mortimer Drake series!

I have just finished this delightful YA book. It is a wonderful story that is well told. I enjoyed it tremendously. As a substitute teacher in middle school I have read my fair share of YA books and I find this one to be very well written. It is fast paced and it leaves you wanting more. It is a coming of age novel in that Edgar comes into his own powers. It is a quest story in that Edgar goes on a quest to find his parents. It is an adventure story that opens up a door to future adventures. It is a thriller in that it is suspense-fully written, and leaves the reader with a cliff hanger that begs them to find and read the next in the series. It offers a world that the teen can enter with ease because they enter with Edgar. Edgar never really knows more than they do. It may challenge the young person to look more closely at what he/she believes about life after death, but a good challenge is at its best when it is a growing experience. Young people need the challenge because they need the growth it can foster. I hope that teachers, and parents, look at this book to include in their classroom and home libraries.
